Truffault vs. Harryhausen

Truffault vs. Harryhausen was a temporary ‘drive-in shadow-play’ staged in the parking lot of Hip Pocket Theater’s 12-acre site in Ft. Worth, Texas.  Working for three weeks with local volunteers and students, the installation was largely collaborative.  The result: projected video and live shadow puppetry cross-fade on a 27’ screen in a ten-minute loop shown free of charge for visitors sitting in their parked cars. The result was a lacework of photographic and handmade imagery from the immediate site, temporarily celebrated and then contorted into the next feature.  Although the intended audience was the people sitting in their cars, the piece was visible to drivers on Silver Creek Rd. a 1/4 mile away.
